Taking the Android experience to a whole new level in India, handset maker Motorola has rolled out two new Android-based smartphones. While Motorola Milestone XT720 is claimed to be one of the world's slimmest Android-powered smartphone, Backflip with Backtrack is touted to be the world's first reverse-flip design handset. Taking full advantage of the power of Android 2.1, Milestone XT720 comes packed with an 8-megapixel camera with Xenon flash, 10x digital zoom and a high-resolution 720p HD camcorder. A suite of Google mobile applications including Google Search, Google Maps, Gmail and YouTube are also integrated onto the device. Motorola Milestone XT720 is available at Rs 34,990, the Motorola Backflip comes with a price tag of Rs 22,990.

Motorola Backflip with Backtrack maximises multi-tasking; its reverse-flip design makes it easier to enjoy videos, music and photos while churning through e-mails, texts, news feeds, social network messages and more. Its high-res 7.8 cm HVGA screen allows users to see more and respond faster. It comes with a friction hinge that allows the Qwerty keyboard to flip underneath for working in tabletop mode. It automatically locks in this position to ensure no accidental pressing of the keyboard. The digital picture frame mode lets you show off latest adventures. The Backflip can even turn into a bedside alarm clock for the morning wake up call.

The Motorola Backflip allows access to Android Market which has more than 70,000 applications and widgets to customise BACKFLIP to one's liking. Capture, playback and stream the moment with the 5 megapixel camera and auto-focus LED flash of the Backflip. Additional extras such as a GPS, stereo Bluetooth, MPEG 4 capability, 3.5 mm (0.35 cm) headset audio jack and expandable memory of up to 32GB make Backflip the complete package.

The new smartphones come preloaded with lifetime free access to fully voice-guided street-level navigable MapmyIndia maps of 401 cities in India. All the consumer needs to do is to launch 'India' maps from the Motonav application.
The GPS navigation service is free with no activation or data charges, independent of mobile networks and can be used even without inserting the SIM card, as the maps are fully loaded on the Milestone XT720 and Backflip.
Motorola Milestone XT720 is priced at Rs 34,990 and comes with an in-box 8GB memory card and HDMI cable for output to HDTV. On the other hand, Motorola Backflip comes with a price tag of Rs 22,990 and an in-box 2GB memory card.
