Japanese electronics manufacturer is known in camera world. Fujitsu Ltd is planning to launch smartphones in India and China in 2011 and 2012. Currently Fujitsu manufactures mobile phones with Toshiba but will have plans of taking over the mobile phone segment completely. Fujitsu expects to sell 10 million mobile phones in two years, 60% more than fiscal 2010 estimates.
"We are thinking of entering overseas markets with our smartphones, which we believe can be competitive even outside Japan. China and India are among possible target markets," Masami Yamamoto, president of Fujitsu told the Nikkei business daily.
